Simulating Araponga - The High-Resolution Diffractometer of Brazilian Multipurpose Reactor

The Brazilian Multipurpose Reactor (RMB) is a fundamental project that aims to turn Brazil into self-sufficient country in the production of radioisotopes and radiopharmaceuticals supply Unified Health System (SUS) as much private institutions. In addition, RMB describes other applications irradiation testing nuclear fuels structural material analysis, for instance. There are many techniques study aspects materials, where neutron diffraction represents one priorities implementation. This technique will take place mainly on two diffractometers Thermal Neutron Guide 1 (TG1), namely Araponga, high-resolution diffractometer, Flautim, high-intensity diffractometer. this work, we performance Araponga diffractometer through McStas simulations with input produced by MCNP code core. We investigate flux values considering state-of-art results promising since some simulated scenarios present compatible devices.
